GAIA x COP29
Art DIrector
Designer

GAIA champions environmental justice by empowering grassroots movements to combat waste and pollution. They envision a just, zero-waste world where communities thrive, free from toxic pollution, and resources are sustainably preserved.

What I Did

I designed and produced a full communications suite for GAIA’s participation at COP29, covering pre-event, live coverage, and post-event storytelling:

We developed and managed the full creative production pipeline for GAIA’s participation at COP29—covering strategy, design, localization, and real-time content delivery. This project demanded precision, adaptability, and collaboration across multiple time zones and languages.

Multilingual & Inclusive Communication

We produced assets in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Indonesian, ensuring that GAIA’s message reached partners and communities across continents. Every translation maintained the same clarity, tone, and visual integrity—so the message resonated equally everywhere.

Collaborative Workflow & Repository Management
To keep pace with the event’s rapid timeline, we established a shared asset repository system for cross-team coordination. Templates, translations, and final outputs were organized for quick updates and instant publishing. The process allowed GAIA’s communications team, regional partners, and designers to access, update, and deploy materials within hours—often during the event itself.

Design Under Tight Deadlines
With overlapping launches and live sessions, many deliverables required same-day turnaround. I created materials in near-real time, from quote cards reacting to daily sessions to short video clips edited and branded within hours of recording. The design system we built—anchored in GAIA@COP29 branding—made rapid production both possible and consistent.

Pre-COP:

  • Visual identity system for GAIA@COP29 across digital and print materials
  • Video and social templates (LinkedIn, IG Reels) to set the visual tone
  • PowerPoint template aligned with GAIA’s global brand
  • CPI promotional campaign: 4 multilingual videos (EN, SP, PT) + poster

During COP:

  • Live event coverage assets: quote cards, event flyers, press conference posters
  • Zero Waste Hub exhibit visuals: 5 A3 posters + postcard + Climate Newsroom promos
  • Delegation brochure: ~10 pages highlighting 30 delegates, 10+ side events, and a unified call to action

Post-COP:

  • Closing video (3–5 min): a highlight reel celebrating impact, partnerships, and what’s next at COP30

Deliverables (Highlights):

  • 25 quote card templates
  • 12+ event flyers
  • 2 multilingual video sets (US$20B campaign)
  • 1 Gita Pertiwi case study layout (EN, ID)
  • 1 policy brief (EN, SP)

Every piece—whether a two-minute interview reel or a single quote card—carried the same quiet message: GAIA is here, and the movement for zero waste is global, vibrant, and unstoppable.

The result? A unified presence that made GAIA impossible to miss at COP29—authentic, confident, and full of heart.
